Kex Gill update - 14.06.24

Published: 15 June 2024

We are pleased to announce that the repair scheme, following the landslip on the A59 at Kex Gill, is almost complete.

We have installed 85 metres of steel sheets – known as piles – to create the structural wall required, along with reconstructing the embankment and carriageway sub-base. From Monday, we will be carrying out the resurfacing of the area affected.

At the moment, we are about a week ahead of schedule which means we are aiming to reopen the road by the end of next week.

The session will start at 6pm for a short presentation, followed by an opportunity to ask questions and discuss matters with our officers.
