Kex Gill update - 17.05.24 |
Work is progressing well on-site, and we have now installed more than 60 metres of steel sheets – known as piles – to create the structural wall.
From Monday (20 May), reconstruction of the carriageway behind the newly installed sheet piles will start. This will mean the road will be fully closed for all users until the end of the works, including emergency services and local residents.
We appreciate this may cause an inconvenience, but it is necessary to ensure the works are completed as soon as possible.
Working hours have been extended, as well as weekend working, and we still anticipate the road to reopen before the end of June (subject to any unforeseen delays).
We would like to thank you once again for your patience and reiterate that we are doing all we can to complete the repair as quickly and safely as possible. |

We are currently finalising the details of two drop-in sessions – one in the Skipton area and another in the Harrogate area – for you to find out more. Once we have finalised the dates and times, we will endeavour to let you know.
We have also been engaging with local MP Julian Smith, who has passed on feedback from residents about the road closure. |
As mentioned previously, road users are being advised to follow the diversion route in place, which is via the A658, A660 and A65 (or by this route reversed). Signage is in place along this route reminding people of the closure and that businesses remain open. |
